Week Three

I used the previous weekend to take as many pictures as possible for my preliminary task so that it would allow me to save time during the week so I can piece everything together. This week I have been able to finish my front cover so I am going to start on my contents page. There may be some things that I may still want to change but there will still be time at the end so I can do all of this then. For the pictures I took, I used people I know so that it would be easier and less time consuming for me.

Week Two

This is the week where I actually start producing my preliminary task. I chose the colour scheme firstly and thought about what colours best suit a school magazine. I then took an image which I thought would best fit in here. I was unsure of what the name of the magazine should be as I haven't seen many school magazines around. I looked to see if I could find any but there was only a few. I then decided on the name 'too school for cool' which is in contrast of the phrase 'too cool for school.' I thought that this would work well here as it would attract many students. I then asked people within and outside of my class and many said that it seemed 'catchy' so I decided to stay with this. I want the front cover of my preliminary task to be completed by mid next weeks so that I can then start on the contents page of my preliminary task. I do not want to spend too long on this task as it is only needed for me to grasp the basic skills for when it comes to creating my music magazine.

Week One (13th - 19th september)

During this term we will be looking at the specification and seeing what is expected of us as AS media students, creating both a preliminary and a final magazine. As our preliminary consists of being a school magazine I would have to research into other school magazines to help me. I can also look online and look on other students’ blogs from other schools to see how they have produced their preliminary task. I have to make sure that I create a production schedule so that the time organisation is precise and keeps me to my deadline.
